That is a neat idea. What I do with gently used machine needles: I thread a piece of thread thru the eye and put it back in the original pack. That way when I see the thread I know it has been used. I also have "penny" size sticky notes for each needle size that I stick to the top of the machine so I remember which needle I have in the machine.

What a great idea. I keep marking a piece of paper and then losing it. Thank you.

Love that idea. I even have threads lying around that would work perfectly for it.
