Default Has anyone used hanging shoe bags (the square ones) for fabric?

Just wondering if anyone out there has used those rather large hanging fabric bags for fabric? These are the ones that have the square openings to slip a pair of shoes in. Have they worked? They appear to hang around the closet pole -- is it velcro that holds it up?
I have a spot where I can put one, but I don't want to invest the $ if they can't hold the fabric.

Thanks!!

I have one that I use. It is full of fabric, books and patterns. Works really well. I mounted it on a large wooden clothes hanger and it is hanging from a plant hook in the corner of the room.

I have one in my sewing room closet and have it filled with fabric. It fastens around the closet pole with velcro. It has held up well and is well worth the money, in my opinion. Bought mine at Walmart at least a year ago.

I bought one back when I need extra storage space in the RV I stayed in for two months. Now I have a new use for it. Thanks for the inspiration!!!

I have one, too. It has UFOs and PIMM (projects in my mind) that I've collected fabric for.

I have a mesh bag with pockets, along the same line as the shoe holder. It has odd and ends sewing stuff, palstic cnavas, rotary cutters, bias tape maker, etc. it has pockets on the sides as well as those on the front. I hang it over my free standing sewing closet door. got it on sale at Wal Mart.

I have used the type with the rounded pockets on each side to store my serger thread. It holds a lot of cones and does not take up much room. it hangs by a hook over the closet rod.
