It is a great table... Keep in mind that you can do something similar, but on a smaller scale. I made mine with 3 bookcases from Ikea, but there are pics of ones out there with even just one. The really nice thing for me is that, in addition to the storage it allows, I've got a counter height work surface. I've cut for hours - literally - and not gotten a back ache.

You can see mine here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/mission...e-t212058.html

To make a smaller one, just use one book case (for example, in the second pic, just the one on the far left end). That size would be about 30" wide and 15" deep. Depending on room, you could use the top as is or add a top anywhere from that size to a few inches larger all around.

Mine is being put up today!
I am pushing the bookcases back under the table about 6 inches so I don't hit my feet against them. I can then work around the entire table. My top is done in oak. Looks really nice, the builder did a great job.

I love this look! Right now, both of my upstairs bedrooms also have to double as guest rooms so I am limited as to what I can put up that is permanent. I use a folding table on bed risers for my cutting table but it is easily taken down when family comes to visit. One of the rooms where I sew has a more permanent arrangement of folding tables that can be shoved around to pull out the day bed trundle when necessary. Not perfect but I am grateful to have the space I do.

Looks very similar to my niece's setup which I totally envy.

I hope to get the room together this week. It will still be rough, need to paint and such, but hope to get some pictures to share. Just need to learn how to share pictures here.
