Default My Christmas Present...my new sewing table

Hi! My wonderful hubby went with me to pick up my sewing machine from it's servicing. While there I showed him a sewing table. A couple of days later he told me to call the guy up and tell him we'd take it! It took 3 tries and 2 weeks to get the correct insert but I still used the table until then! Here's a few pics. He also had the garage finished so we could move my mid-arm out there and we bought a loveseat so he can sit in the sewing room with me while I sew. Of course, this meant he needed to install a "new to us" big tv as well! The room is coming along nicely. I'll post more pics once I get a few more things cleaned up...

How nice! You must be a really great wife to have such a generous DH. I'm sure you'll enjoy your Christmas gift!

Your present is wonderful! What brand is your unit? I would love to have a sewing desk with drawers. Is the extension on the back part of the unit?

SELM-I don't remember the brand...lol. The extension is on the back-it can fold down. The right side can fold down as well and there is an extension I can add over the drawers (open the top drawer to provide support). Most of the time it will be extended but I like the option to close it down if we need the extra space.

Thanks for the information. I'll be on the lookout for this for sure. Enjoy your new sewing room too.

You will love the extension out the back. I have one and it never has been down. I also have the extension on the left that goes over the drawers. I never go in the drawers as I always have the extension over the drawers. I had a friend make my work station and love it. I'm thinking of having him make me a cutting table with drawers etc.

I have a cabinet, now eight years old, much like the one Diannia shows, with the air lift for the machine and the drop leaf in back of the machine. It was purchased from Horn of America and the model is HVP89. I don't know if you can find the exact model, etc. from that long ago. I love the cabinet and it is easy to put the drop leaf up and down as desired.
