Janied: The room is about 14 x 18. We made it that size because that is 1/2 the width of the basement, and the length I needed to fit in all my 'stuff'.
Maniac: That is how I decided my 'stuff' would fit and work best. I had an envelope of little tables, book cases, and even my ironing board. I have room behind the machine table to set up my ironing board between me and the cutting board. Then when sewing I can press (with ironing board lowered to my level) and sew without having to get out of my chair so often. I'm still recovering from my back surgery and the up and down makes my back hurt.
Yesterday I got a door on my room! Last night I was able to go in, shut the door and sew. I cannot tell you how many times I have thanked God for my wonderful room. I'm mostly moved in and miles from being organized. Thank you all for sharing this experience with me. We did install the vinyl planking that was recommended by members of the Board. We love it.
