Default Okay scraps....I'm jumping in !

I reorganized my sewing room a few months ago ( pictures are posted) except for the closet, but yesterday I dug out all the fabric folded and stored it properly and found the scrap therapy book I had bought a while ago. I had developed a very bad habit of throwing new fabric in the closet and thinking "I'll put it away later" and there it sat. It was fun finding all the fabric I had bought and forgot about...lol. Well my main sewing workhorse is in the shop, I do not like my back up machine and will sell it and replace it, but in the mean time....Joan Ford and I are going to tackle those scraps! I have moved them three times and I look at them and never do anything with them and the piles continue to grow but times up ready to make them into usable pieces, should be interesting have never made a scrappy quilt, but with everything cut and ready to go should make it more likely to happen. Well a new bottle of starch is mixed and ready....I'm going in!

You sound revved up and ready to work! I need to do all that too.... But keep procrastinating.
For scrappy inspiration, have you seen The Scrappy Quilt Show, here on the QB? Wow what a lot of great quilts!

can't wait to see your scrappys I love them, like said above no rules. I have been off sewing doing to a fall and building my house and getting all moved. I can't wait to get back to it. If it wasn't for this board I'd have been put in a straight jacket by not being able to sew for almost 2 yrs now.
Best of luck o ya and your friend.

They are this board somewhere, I'm not particularly computer savvy or I'd post the link...maybe you can search by my posts? Sorry not much help.

Got one pile cut and took a break to look at the scrappy quilts...wow, now I'm intimidated...I don't have a very good eye for color and those look like they were well thought out. Yikes, maybe I'll start with a bed runner.

Think in terms of value....light, medium, dark...and the colors will take care of themselves. Have fun!

I cut my scraps into the sizes of pre-cuts...2 1/2 in. strips, 5 in. squares, etc.; whatever worked for the pieces of fabric I was cutting up. That way I can make the fun and easy patterns designed for precuts and quickly use up my scraps. Used up a bunch of 2 1/2 in. strips this weekend on a quilt. So nice to only have to cut the background pieces and the strips to the right length.
