I also do genealogy and i use sheet protectors for baseball cards for wallet sized pics, this might be a good size for your small swatches???

I think putting a swatch of all my fabrics into a notebook would be great. Whenever I want to make a quilt I could pick the fabrics out of it. Would take me a month or so with all the fabrics I have.

Get some of those plastic baseball card pages that go in a 3-ring binder. Also I would highly recommend including where you purchased the fabric for quick reference in the future. Before my stash exploded I kept a small photo album in my purse with a swatch of each of my fabrics. Now it would take a pirate's trunk to haul it all around!

Great idea tho! Kudos and keep it up!
