Hope you're impressed izy!! Sewing room sorted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A few weeks ago my wonderful QB friend Izy spent 3 days sorting my mountain of fabrics into order!! I have now done the rest of the room!!!!!!!!!! I took lots of magazines to my sewing group to be recycled, sold some surplus books/notions etc and have now reorganised the rest!!! Why did it take me so many years to realise heavy boxes need to be on lower shelves??DUH!!!!! So here are some pics!! My room is 9'x7'(we don't do large in the UK!!!) I never thought I could be so organised!!! Thanks Izy!!! You are an inspiration!!!!!

Friends are wondeful-especially those who just give us a little nudge and stay by our side! Your sewing area looks great! Doesn't it feel good to walk in the room and be able to find the things you need instead of hunting for them? Enjoy!
Nice room ! Wish I had someone come organize me :)
Great job, I am inspired!
WOW Hilary, it doesn't look like the same room! You have worked SO much harder than I did, I had the easy bit playing with fabrics!
I am so proud of you...especially as you have been so debilitated with a painful back condition for a few weeks too so I know this wasn't easy for you! AND I spy some crumb blocks on your sewing table, so look forward to seeing more of those soon! Have to laugh at your wall plaque...it's SO NOT TRUE!!!!! :) :) :) |

You both did a wonderful job, looks great!
Love your sewing accessories! Great window and lighting in your special room.
Wow, really nice!!!!
Very nice! If your coming thru my neck of the woods, you are more than welcome to tidy my room up.
Nice room, enjoy creating in it.
Very tidy AND very creative looking! Do you have steps to reach those high shelves or are you a very tall person? I so envy the space where you have everything so organized.
WOW, you have a very clean and tidy sewing room. I'm so glad for you.
Nice job..inspiring.
Looks great. Now you just have to be creative. Sue
So neat and organzied. Love the window seal.
So cool! Love the upper shelving for additional storage. I didn't win the lottery unfortunately so can I "borrow" your ideas for free?
Thankyou all for your kind comments!! I am really thrilled with my room....still can't quite believe I've actually achieved it!!! My fabrics have always been rather 'thrown' together! scraps, fat quarters, yardage etc....no colour co-ordination!! It got to the point that I was a little overwhelmed!!! I now feel much happier in there and ready to start on some scrap quilts!! I have actually done 6 blocks this afternoon!!!! I can reach the top shelves..at a stretch..but do have some steps handy!! It's certainly easier getting the smaller boxes down!!! Can't believe I struggled with the big ones for so long!!!! This would never have got done without Izy's help and organising skills!!!! I hope others are inspired!!!! Off to do some more sewing!!!!!

Thankyou! The window overlooks the driveway to our home! At the moment the fence looks a little bare but in a few weeks time there will be flower troughs hanging there (when all the frosts have gone!!) So the view will be a little prettier!!!

Oh, darn, I was going to volunteer to come over and do some gardening for you! It's getting too hot here in Florida, but the gardening bug never goes away. Oh, well... but seriously, you two ladies did a fabulous job on the room and I've enjoyed your banter. Unfortunately I didn't win the lottery either. Guess I forgot to play!

Looks sew nice!! I wish Izy lived in my neck of the woods. Iam in the process of trying to get organized. It is a work in progress. Enjoy your neat space.
Nice sewing room. Friends are wonderful.

I love your sewing room. The big window is awesome.

Great job Hilary! And I thought I had a lot of plastic boxes!! LOL I recently resorted all my plains (small version) after seeing someone's lovely tidy room on QB. I put them into plastic boxes and stored them on top of the two cupboards I use, and felt very virtuous. Then last week DH noticed that our front bedroom (we live in a bungalow) was sunny and my workroom wasn't as it was on the side of the house and faced a wooden fence. So we swapped the front bedroom for my workroom, and now we have an en-suite bedroom, and I have a sunny bigger room, which also faces down our drive so I see all the doings of the village.!!
I love your sign. Creative and tidy don't go in the same sentence, do they? :) You've really maximized your space. Enjoy!

How nice to have everything organized - and even better to have help from a friend. If you are like me keeping it organized is the problem!
