My "new" Sewing Room

4 Attachment(s)
My DH has just finished re-doing my sewing room. He made 2 desk tops with recesses for my Bernina 820 & my Juki 98Q. I also have included a couple of vintage machines which I have displayed.
He than added some drawers & finished with a separate table for my Babylock Serger which I can move out of the way whan I am not using it. Hope these turn out. I LOVE it.

So when can you send your hubby this way to work on my room. I am so green with envy... but happy for you.

Your room looks great!!!

Sewfine 03-23-2012 02:42 PM

Your sewing room is awesome. Love how the vintage sewing machines are displayed. Oh! by the way I just got my vintage sewing machine today from a seller on craigslist gulfport. It is a singer spartan. Needs a new belt, did not come with any attachments or bobbin. I will take a picture of it and post it later.

ShabbyTabby 03-23-2012 02:45 PM

How lucky you have such a handy Hubby!!! Your sewing room is great. Wish I had a space so organized and plenty of room to work in....

Linnie 03-23-2012 03:20 PM

WOW!!! I love it.

A friend of mine just sent me an email asking me if I am interested in getting a Singer Spartan - OMG I have just picked up 5 machines in the past 6 weeks. She knows someone who has one & wants to get rid of it. The pic I saw of one on the internet looks very similar to the FW that I just purchased my eBay Canada. I don't know what to say as I am running out of room. My "dream" is to get a Singer "red eye" but it's a big dream as they are very hard to come by where I live.

I should also point out that the lovely shelf on the right side of the room was made by DH. He's a keeper for sure.

You wouldn't want him today as he is sick with a cold & a little "cranky" LOL

audsgirl 03-23-2012 04:38 PM

This looks so neat! How nice to have a handyman around to help create your dreams. I love your little Featherweight display!

sewbeadit 03-23-2012 04:41 PM

Both of your rooms are very nice, nice use of space. I like the corner table in your sewing room where the little machine is that is a good idea for a corner space to be used up.

nannyrick 03-23-2012 04:47 PM

Beautiful room. Lucky you.

kacy 49 03-23-2012 04:59 PM

It's funny I have been sewing for years especially when our girls were little. He had very little interest then but since I took up quilting he has been wonderful, helpful & likes to spend as much time on the QB as I do !!! He has lots of ideas to make things easier for me & I sincerely appreciate his help. He will be thrilled with the comments from members on this Board.

What a great sewing room have fun creating.

JudyTheSewer 03-23-2012 07:51 PM

He did a great job on those desks! You are so lucky to have a room like that.

margee 03-24-2012 03:28 AM

I love the desks he built for you. Just the right size. I have the room size but no DH to build such beautiful things for me. He's a keeper for sure. Maybe he could post simple plans he designs for cabinets etc.

mcdaniel023 03-24-2012 04:12 AM

janiesews 03-24-2012 05:57 AM

Lucky Lindy 03-24-2012 06:01 AM

That is a beautiful workspace...do you ever wander into other parts of your house? I could spend all my time there with little problem! Enjoy your new "digs"!

caspharm 03-24-2012 04:50 PM

Very nice.

Quiltlady330 03-24-2012 05:07 PM

I really like the scalloped border around your pegboard! Nice touch.

sharin'Sharon 03-24-2012 05:49 PM

What a nice space. Love your color wheel. Wish my 4 ft x 4 ft pegboard looked as neat and clean as yours. Mine is so full that I can't even see the board!! So easy to just reach up and 'get something hung up out of the way' and then forget to put it in it's rightful place later!!!

Jingle 03-24-2012 06:15 PM

Denise_the_Quilt_Lady 03-26-2012 12:39 PM

I love what your hubby did with your desk space for your machines. I have a cabinet that is a slightly upscale version of Sauder Furniture that you put together yourself. I have always wanted to cut it out like that but not sure how, and worried that I would ruin my cabinet. I bet it’s a lot warmer on the other side of the lakes, so why don’t you send him down to help me out. LOL or maybe he could just give me a few pointers.
And btw your entire space is gorgeous.

lots2do 03-26-2012 01:58 PM

Great work! Love the pegboard too.
