Looking GREAT!! I agree with some of the other posters, the paint color is lovely and I so envy you that large window! I have one teensy tiny suggestion...if not now for in the future...I would take the mica top off the cabinet base, replace it with a salvaged wood door, and put some locking casters on the bottom. That way when you have a large piece of fabric to cut/press, you wont be hampered by that attached backsplash. Just might be easier now before you fill it up to make that change. We have a RESTORE store here (run by Habitat for Humanity) and they always have plain, sometimes painted white already doors for little bits of money.

I agree a tall cutting table is great.
Plenty of storage.
And purge once a year.

Yes -- very light green....the windows have the afternoon sun so it almost looks like a white green....matches my 1964 White/Green Featherweight! lol

Update on the room....last night I made a quick trip to Big Lots and bought 12 plastic shoe boxes with lids. Reorganized my cross-stitching thread that I've collected over the years. I think I have every color and more than 1 skein of most so it took 10 of those boxes. Now they are nicely organized numerically and tucked away in the green cabinet along with my out of print Love of Cross-stitch magazines and kits that I have yet to do. Remember....I've had all my cross-stitch packed up while my daughter and her two girls have been living with us for 8 years so I didn't want to risk the children stepping on needles. Now that they are at their own place, I can finally stretch out to where I can get to my cross-stitching! Still have pictures and quilts to hang and my tables are in route from Home Depot. I'm also going to have my DH bring a chair and ottoman down from the attic and throw a cover over it, shabby-chic style, so I have a place to crash when I need to change it up a little and do some stitching or knitting. It will definitely be my 'girlie-cave' when I'm done!!! More pics to come. - Julie

Hi again.....a few more pics from last night. All but one of the under-bed storage boxes is gone. They hold all my cross stitch fabrics. Everything else is put away. yeah! The black/clear storage shelves will be history soon. Still finding ways to organize the little things like ribbon, buttons, zippers, interfacing, thread, etc. I found a nice shelf system on Craigslist for $100. Might pick it up if it's still available this weekend. I'm getting excited. Still wondering what kind/color of curtains for the windows??? hummmmm........ ideas??? Thanks, Julie

this room is coming together very nicely - I love your big windows, and you're so smart to have closed cabinets to keep your fabrics from fading in the sunlight - love the serene wall color

Here's some updated pics. Still have to get the ruler peg board up and the design wall too. My daughter has a white 5-shelf bookcase that is going to be in the corner next to the pressing table to store all the books, binders, pictures and more knick-knacks. Then I'll have alot more room for storage of fabric in the tall armoire with the pink fabric boxes. I'm hoping to have a club chair and ottoman next to the window where I can knit also, taking advantage of the wonderful natural light! Still debating on the kind of window covering to make....drapes, shears, cornice board, or valance. What color? Style? Fabric? Still coming together....
