New Quilting Room

A few months ago I posted here asking for recommendations on wall color for my new room. In late April I started taking down the wallpaper which was a nightmare! I spent hours scraping and trying all kinds of tips, tricks and products. Just about the time I was getting really frustrated trying to get those last stubborn backing bits and glue remnants off without destroying my drywall I gave up and found a product called Gardz that basically reseals the drywall and allowed me to paint over it without any adhesion problems.

So last week I painted 1 coat of Gardz, 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of paint in 4 days. Whew! I'm loving the results and am getting settled in for good.

Here is the view from the doorway - the window you see faces west. I went with a soft yellow paint and am so happy with it.

In this picture you can see my Juki machines set up on back to back tables and a peek at my cutting table on the back wall. I have a contractor friend who is helping me make a new table and I'll post some pictures when it is done. The aqua cart is from IKEA and is really handy to move supplies between my workstations.

And some storage pieces leftover from the bedroom. My rainbow stash is stored on comic boards in the dresser (I posted about that last winter) and the red cube you can see on top is an IKEA insert that will fit under my new cutting table.

This window faces south so I have wonderful light in this room. It's on our lower walkout level so it stays nice and cool in the summer and is heated via in-floor heat in the wintertime.

I feel so happy in this room and basically don't want to leave~!

OH - what a bright, cheery, fabulous sewing space! Love the color that you chose for the walls and love the floors too. Thanks for the inspiration!
