I finally got my sewing corner organized. I didn't think I would ever get through. I also wanted to show you my bargain finds. I got this beautiful Dressmaker sewing machine (A Japanese Singer 15 clone) for $25 at the church thrift store and my new/old BIG sewing table for $7.50 from the Goodwill. My small ironing board and other machine storage are in the second closet. I now have room for all 5 of my sewing machines and I can actually find something in my stash.

What a wonderful sewing area. I know you'll enjoy that a lot!

delma_paulk 09-28-2012 09:05 AM

Looks nice!!! Biggest problem with my room is keeping it neat and tidy!

One suggestion on your window? if you're going to cover it put one of those shoe pocket things up there, made from canvas, and you have lots of pockets to hold more stuff.

Love you machine.

I love your sewing space, and I know you love your Dressmaker. I have had one since the 60's and it is a workhorse.

grandmaemma 09-28-2012 11:37 AM

Looks great!! Love it all.

Debbie C 09-28-2012 11:54 AM

Great job! Love that big closet!!

marla 09-28-2012 01:02 PM

I have that little folding table that you have next to your machine and love being able to move it around. I've also used it to serve desserts at Christmas. Good for you to be organized. What a cute sewing machine.

nygal 09-28-2012 02:16 PM

It all looks very nice!!

DebbE 09-28-2012 03:13 PM

That's a lovely machine - and looks like you have everything organized perfectly to find everything you need. You have great light there -- my quilting room is much darker, so I have to have more lights on to see well.

MattieMae 09-28-2012 03:24 PM

Good job! Isn't it nice to have a sewing space where it's easy to find things? I love those vintage machines, and have the same little pink iPod. ~ :)

What a great space! I LOVE your sexy blue De Luxe....mine's black, but I'd really like to have one of the colored ones.

Beautiful, clean and affordable......just my kind of space!

What a sweet machine! And such a great find for the machine and the table. Your sewing area looks so nice and I'm sure you are really enjoying it now.

Scotlass 09-28-2012 08:54 PM

Your space looks like a wonderful place to spend time!! I, too, just found a little Dressmaker machine at the Goodwill recently. Mine looks to be the same model as yours, but is a wonderful shade of light green. I paid about the same amount that you did and does it ever sew a wonderful stitch.

quiltsRfun 09-28-2012 11:10 PM

What a lovely and organized sewing area you have. Bet you really enjoy sewing there. BTW, that sewing machine is the first thing that caught my eye.

jinik 09-29-2012 03:49 AM

This is scary-I own the storage box-the pink one sitting on top of your green tub!!! Now I know I am truly a crafter! Thanks for sharing. What's in yours?

The MACHINE is beautiful!! I hope to have a closet for my fabric one day...as soon as I can find homes for my doll collection that now occupy it.

I am going to leave my Roman Shades up since this room is used by occasional guests also. I've encroached on the bed enough as it is. The next project is to put up mirrored bi-fold closet doors. That will reflect the light and help in a big way. When we put the new floors in, our bifold doors would not fit any more.

gramquilter2 09-29-2012 03:36 PM

Great space. Love, love your Dressmaker machine!
