Hello to all,
We are just about to start on our our first quilt and this is the setup we put together last weekend in the basement. We hope to find some time to get on with it later this weekend. Snow removal gobbled up a good portion of the weekend but provided us a wonderful stroll along the banks of the Delaware at Milford. Enjoy! Looks like you're ready to go. Love the pair of Singers - are they 301's or 401's?
|
I love your setup, looks like a wonderful place to create. I see we share a love of the 401A. Love that machine. Your photo of the river is so beautiful. You are so lucky to have a place of such beauty to walk. Thank you for showing it to us.

Looks like a perfect place for your quilting adventures to begin. Just a heads up, your room may never look that pristine again! Hehe!

I think you two and I would get along very well. Your walls are knotty pine as are mine, I also have a 401A, and have a water feature in my front yard (we live on a lake channel with a wetland across the way).

Thanks to all for your kind replies and encouragement. It helped us find a bit of time to get into the room and do the cutting for our first quilt. Happy to report all twenty fingers are still attached, we took turns measuring and wielding the cutter, and in the pic below are the stacked seven rows, each with five blocks, and some scraps for us to experiment on.
…. the outdoor picture this week is actually two weekends old, taken a few miles northeast of town near Mongaup Falls Reservoir in NY. Everyone enjoy... John and Mary |
How lovely that you can quilt together facing each other! I loved the pic of the river also, with the crisp snow around it. Happy sewing to you both may you create lots of beautiful items and inspire each other as you bounce ideas off of each other!

What a blessing to have a couple share the quilting experience. I often dream that one day my hubby would find interest in it. Your pics are wonderful and being from NJ understand your snow shoveling experience. Welcome, John and Mary to the "WONDERFUL" quilting board!!!
