WoW I just love your Sew'in table! and the room too. :)
You've made a nice space there, so well organized. It will be a pleasure to sew there. Happy Stitching!
Nice move!! My DH once asked me if I realized that as the kids moved out I filled in their spaces and that he still has his shed out side.
Nice room. I dream of one..................
Nice sewing room love your sewing table!

Ours have moved on...but their "stuff" remains....working on that bit by bit. :) Nice set-up you have there!
Great sewing room. You may need some paint to tone down that floral wallpaper. LOL

Wonderful space, great job and thank you for sharing
Have a Blessed day Ellen |
Great sewing studio! Enjoy!
I like the room...very cheery and happy looking. I did the same thing: kid moved out took his room. Another moved out, another room for me. When the last one moved out, my hubs enclosed the carport for a studio....said he was worried that I'd take every room of the house and he'd get pushed out, too! Enjoy your space!

Very cheerful room, l;ove your sewing machine table.
keep the door locked or they might come back. like your sewing table
I like your room, your machine setup, your cutting table - everything. Even the flowered wall paper. I love flowered wall paper!
You have a great space really like all the bright colors. Happy sewing.
isn't it a great workspace now!
great room-nice to have space to work.
When the grandkids moved I used their room for my cutting table and all the stuff I store under it and paper boxes I had stashed in three of the bedroom closets. Only one not stahed in was our bedroom closet.
Love your room, very organized and bright. Don't get too comfortable, though. I still have my youngest son at home, goes to college. The middle (daughter) got married last year and got a house in our neighborhood. My oldest son haven't lived at home for 6-7 years. GUESS WHAT ?? He's back, with my grandson when he has him half the time. I still have my sewing room, though. But, we have a 5 BD house busting out at the seams. He moved his entire house into ours and into the garage !! Hope that doesn't happen to you...LOL
Love how organized your room is. I'd get rid of the Encyclopedias now that the kids are older. They go out of style? so fast that you don't need them after 2 years. Then you can use that bookcase for more shelving for fabric.
Yup, grab those bedrooms as soon as they leave. My oldest left and I made his room a guest room. Guess who moved back and is the "guest" now? On top of that, he even took over one of my sewing rooms so I'm down to one! But it is nice to have him back and I don't have to mow the lawn now (DH can't do it because of his asthma).
looks nice but we want to see pics 6 months from now.
I love being an empty nester too! Kids are doing well, off to their own places. I have 1 bedroom for my sewing and hubby uses family room for his N scale trains. Love the kids to visit but wouldn't want to give up the new freedom!!
Isn't it funny how fast our sewing space spreads out when our kids move and give us room?
Very nice sewing room. I would take over the room also. We have a Granddaughter living with us. She goes to school and works part time. I will take over her room for sewing when she moves out. I'm not in a hurry for her to move. Living with us keeps me from worrying about her.
Congrats on your new room, hope they don't plan on moving back in.lol Your new room is so sunny and nice you will enjoy your time there.

I also took over a bedroom for my sewing room for awhile but it was too cold in the winter so now I use the den. I have to tell you that when our youngest son moved out, I gave him his bedroom furniture and the living room furniture (he slept on the couch and loveseat more than his bed). He was 21 and just bought his first house. 2 years later he sold his house and moved back home (with his indoor dog). He let the dog sleep with him so I wouldn't let him sleep on my guest bed. They stayed in the den and used the hide away bed. Lasted about 3 months then he moved out. I didn't want him to get to comfortable....hehehe
Your space is so sunny and light. Love it. |
Love the wallpaper!
If you find your back aches after cutting fabric, Try putting your table on bed risers Tinker
I have an empty nest. :( However I am using one bedroom as my sewing room and another is slowly filling up with scraps. Lol never met a scrap I didn't like!
:( ----- all 3 of my girls are grown and have left home....and having a room(s) for my quilty pleasures is the only nice thing about it...... ;)
Putting that table in the corner is perfect for quilting. Good for you!
