Well, he SAID to organize my stuff...

DH kept getting on me about having my 'craft crap' everywhere. (various stuff, not all sewing).

So I fixed it!

We have a walk-through pantry/laundry room that leads to the garage. I took half the shelving space, and made it my craft storage space. It's close to the kitchen (I use the kitchen island and table for cutting/sewing anyhow) and out of sight when we have company.

I've never been so organized! :D:D

Looks a very good use of pantry space - who needs food?!? ;)

LoupEsprit 11-20-2012 10:34 AM

LOL, the other half is food. We just never buy enough at one time to fill both sides anyway. :) We only go shopping every two weeks (and as needed in between) and it's for those two weeks usually; we typically don't stock up on stuff.

I just organized all my 'stuff' also. We just moved in to a house I have loved and envied for years. It's right next door to the one I grew up in and is all on one floor and handicap accessible. Our old house was a 120 yr old farmhouse with all the bedrooms and the bath and laundry up a steep, narrow stairs. Don't need the handicap part yet but hubby just turned 70 this year and you never know. Anyway, the new house has a 10x12 laundry room with floor to ceiling cherry cupboards on two walls. I'm just bowled over! Took one set of doors for a pantry and one for a broom closet and the rest is my quilting stash and my stamping supplies. Part of the cupboards even have pull out shelves. I am just thrilled with my new house and my new storage space!

First of all, how wonderful to live next door to your childhood home! And your laundry room sounds like a dream with lovely cupboards and pull out shelves! You'll have to post photos.

I like your storage area also. Please tell me he picks up after himself and doesn't have any of his "crap" laying around!

Wow! This sounds fabulous! Cherry cupboards! So happy for you!

That looks great. My mother has been complaining about me using her dining room table, I informed her that if we had a basement with enough light and no mold, or my room had three prong plugs, I'd be happy to work elsewhere... guess what is on Dad's honey do this this winter??

sewbeadit 12-03-2012 04:56 PM

Looks great and a good idea. HOw does your hubby like it?

LoupEsprit 12-04-2012 08:17 AM

DH is more irritated at the cost of the hobby, and less about the loss of shelf space. At least now everything HAS a spot. Before it was all scattered. :)

Micki922 12-04-2012 04:23 PM

Go you! At least it's in one place. Micki
