Why I am on a fabric diet

I'm trying to post photos for about the fifth time - if this works, story to follow later. WOW!!! I Did It! Only works if the photos are resized in case anyone else is having trouble. Now, my story. Last August my dearest friend re-wrote her will to say that I was to inherit her fabric stash. She died in December from brain cancer. I still don't have all the fabric home, but at last count, I have over 360 yards on bolts. There are 22 "kits" of coordinated fabric with patterns. There are three bins of fat quarters and oh so many scraps cut 'a la Bonnie Hunter system. See why I can buy any new fabric?

I agree. No new fabric for you

What a special friend! She really really wanted you to have fun with her fabrics. Honor her by sewing up a storm! :)

What a sweet rememberance. Kind of having her there quilting with you. So sorry to hear about her passing. Five years ago I had a my dear friend pass away also from brain tumors. Her husband gave their old couch and chair to me. It is now in my studio and I frequently nap on it. It was also my friends favorite nappin place. Eventhough she did not quilt she is now permanently part of my quilting.

So sorry to hear about your dear friend, but what a treasure she left you. You will be near to her every time you choose a piece of her fabric work with.

Wonderful gift. My quilting group made a quilt with fabrics left by one of our members when she died of cancer. What a special time it was to remember her while everyone sewed on her fabric. We auctioned it for the church building fund and now the quilt is in the home and loved by one of our friends who doesn't quilt but loved the one who passed away.

I am sorry for the loss of your friend. Surely she knew that you would honor her collection of fabrics and all the organization efforts of her stash.
