A year on....

Last year my husband very kindly converted our small room into a sewing room..... It is a really small room so we ripped everything and after a visit to ikea set out kitting it out.....we needed a bed settee so that if guests come we can use it as a bedroom.......which we have done a number of times. It is great. We didn't fix the unit top to the base cupboards so when guests come the top goes up against a wall....the units all budge together and the bed gets pulled out......and it still looks tidy.
I have had it for a year now and it is a wonderful room. It is really easy to keep tidy which I try to do after every project....as I said it is a tiny space but I love it I only have my Janome out at the moment but I can fit either my embroidery machine or overlocker on the unit too....so as much space as I need. |
Wow, what a nice space!!!!!

Nice and tidy sewing space! I really like the brown woven pull out baskets.
|
You did a great job on your room. I can see why you like it so much.
|
you have a great setup with lots of storage, enjoy
|
What a great room!

Very nice set-up!! Having your own 'space' is lovely!! Enjoy!!
|
That is really neat, and you have it neat too. Very nice
|
What a beautiful space

Beautiful! So nice and neat. I wish we had an IKEA store around here.
|
You did a lot in such a little space. Enjoy
|
What a super neat room! How wonderful!

Because it is such a small space (10"x 9"approx) it has to stay tidy otherwise it becomes a pit....but good storage made all the difference.....Good old Ikea.
Before I stored all my fabric in large storage boxes which was fine but if I wanted some fabrics five boxes down it was a major lifting exercise....using the folding method suggested by the board has transformed how I do a project...I can look through my stash easily and quickly .....does that mean I don't buy so much....Heck no...quilters have a fabric addiction.....just have to have that fat quater! |
Rosemary what a very well kept space!! It is so organized!! I wish I had the room in my spare room! Hope all is well with you and yours!

Great sewing room. I would have left the bed out and made room for a cutting table.
Thats what they make Motels for. LOL |

Great space to work in and enjoy!

Very nice job pulling that together. Will look back at this when I get ready to do mine!

Wow, amazing use of a small space. Look at how much storage you've managed to get in there. My room is slightly bigger than yours and there's no way I could fit a bed in there!
|
Very nice room. Enjoy your new space.
|
