Red face Selvage & Scrap Sorting

To organize my selvages (long term project is making a king size quilt from them), I am using my old scrap sorter. My scraps were overflowing so I had to find another way to organize them. In any case, it's just a cheapo Wal Mart shoe organizer that I keep behind my sewing room door. Since it's kept open while I work in there, it's completely out of sight {and mind} until I find some more pieces to add to the slowly growing piles. Sorted by colors, it will save me some time later on when I decide I have enough pieces to start work on my selvage project.

Tutorial for selvage squares here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...al-t29407.html

You can use your shoe organizer for other stuff if scraps & selvage aren't your thing....notions, small precuts {charm packs fit nicely!} or for your smaller acrylics. I even thought about putting all my patterns in there to get them out of the cabinet but I realized pretty quickly that I would need 2 for all the patterns I own.

    Happy Organizing!!

May I just say, while I find your ambition inspiring, the thought of making a king size quilt out of selvages pretty much makes me shiver in horror....

Having said that - please do not hesitate to post pics !

Wow! What a great idea. I was just getting ready to throw my whole lot into a plastic bag......I was looking for a good reason to go to Walmart anyway! Thanks for the info.

Real nifty. I will definitely be copying you since I am now working with loads of crumbs and need to clear the space to do 2 baby quilts. Thanks for sharing this great and easy idea.
