Default Storage for ALL my rulers and templates

The tip for using hanging file folders has been posted many times. If there are instructions or notes you want to keep with the tool you can store everything together. The problem I have is that many of the things I want to store are longer than the 11" or 14" length of the folder. I just found one of these rolling carts at the thrift store:
http://www.amazon.com/Seville-Classi...ging+file+cart
The thing that's great is see that divider thing in the top? it will allow you to put 2 letter size hanging folders side-by-side. Now I can store all my rulers & guides including my 6X24. I can just use 2 adjacent file folders.
I paid way less, of course the drawers had gone missing, but hey I'm happy. Just something to keep your eye out for at garage sales & thrift stores.

I have two wooded squares with groves to fit the rulers. The long one holds the longer and not used all the rulers and the smaller square is the ones with the rulers I use often so it is handy on my right side easy to reach.

I will have to keep my eyes open for one... I think they might have something very similar at Sam's Club.

Must of my ruler have a hole in them, so I have little nails on my walls and hang them there.
I also have the clippy things that I clip the ones that don't have holes in them.

What a great find! This is something to consider - so frustrated trying to keep up with all my rulers and the instructions.

Exactly what I do - keep squares together on one nail, long ones on another nail and triangles on yet another. Works great and I can always find the one I'm looking for. Directions in a 3 ring binder.

The ones that have holes I hang on pegboard. The ones that don't have holes are generally shorter and can go into file folders.

I keep mine on one of those wood ruler holders with the cut out slots. My longest is 24". It works for me as I only have 5 or 6 various sizes. I don't have any specialty rulers.

If you have that cart, you could get hooks or something to hang your rulers on, down the sides. If you want the instructions to the rulers handy, put them in those clear 3 ring vinyl folders (business clear ones) and hang them on the sides too. In fact, you could hang a 3 ring notebook on the side. I am a wood worker and want to make a long holder with grooves in but right now, the barn is snowed in and I am not shoveling it out. I will wait for nicer weather.
When I open my computer, an ad shows up and they have a table with shelves under and two small drawers for your scissors, etc. I tried to find it on their site, and I did not have the patience to go thru the entire site to find it. I wish I could because if it would be too high for me, I am 4'10", I could cut the legs off. I had surgery on both shoulders and right now have the shingles since I had shoulder surgery in Sept. and I decided I want to get my stuff in order, and
have it correct this time for me. I think it is time I get the things I want out of life. Sorry to sound off. Hope all of you find that perfect table.
