My pegboard is behind the door - I have lots hanging on it, but don't see it unless the door is closed. I'd make sure the pegboard is covered by your design wall - maybe set it up so that your design wall swings out (mount to the wall with hinges) and then you won't have to look at the clutter. I agree that clutter is very hard to deal with -- look for ways to store things out of sight. Folded quilts, a plant or two, and de-cluttering is what made my quilting room much more motivating. Last weekend was spent spring cleaning - and the quilt room was part of it. What a huge difference, getting all the old clothes, shoes, etc that was stored out of closets, under beds, etc, and re-organizing. I have a trunkful of donations now...but none of it is fabric!

I am currently in a similar situation, except I need to declutter and pare down. I love all my stuff but it needs to be more cohesive (sp) for my room. I want to walk in anf feel inspired to want to quilt. I just don't want to walk in my sewing room and take on another project! Good luck with your room, you "seam" to be on the right stitch length! Keep it up!
