I use a clear shoe rack hung on the back of my craft room door for ribbons, not all of my ribbons are on rolls, and I like to buy yard cuts and collect it where I can, so the clear shoe slips are perfect for storage. I love it.

Are there any other ribbon storage tips out there? I have just started working with ribbon. Right now I store them in a plastic shoe box. There are not enough in there to keep them standing up side by side yet. I know, what am I waiting for, get some more, right? LOL! How do you keep the ribbon from unwinding from the spool while you are storing it. I want to avoid a rat's nest for ribbon! Thanks! I like the ideas already mentioned, but I don't have a door to hang a clear shoe rack from. I like the hangar idea, but I have a cat and I need some way to secure the end of the ribbon on the spool so she can't unwind them. I don't have a place to hang the hangars, but I am sure I could set something up. Can I just say that since I have started using ribbons, I have found it is like fabric. I want it ALL!!!!!! Too funny! Thanks in advance for any ideas you give me!
