Scrapin' Southern Style

I got a late start on the Orca Bay Mystery quilt, but have thoroughly enjoyed it. I am currently working on the red strip piecing blocks. I did all the hourglass units, blue strip pieced blocks and the orca units. I don't love making the strip pieces, but I do like the effect. I cut out the black and neutral squares to make the Ohio star units.

I estimate I am more than halfway done with the quilt. I was very gratified to see the finished quilt on New Year's Day. I have to say it is my favorite mystery of Ms. Hunter. I am very excited to complete the quilt.
