Wow...last year I quilted 20 quilts...I was a bit burnt out...so I have been spending my time cleaning out my exercise room and made it into a sewing room, painted, put up shelves, decorated it (Love it!), bought a treadle and tore it apart and with a friend of mine cleaned it all up and put it back together...it looks perfect in my new sewing room. I converted my rolltop desk into a stow away for my Accuiquilt dies and my Janome 7700 while its not in use. I went shopping yesterday at a consignment store and talked them down on a Serger, Elna 614 so I have a new addition...and no idea how to use that. This year I will work on my treadle skills and also learn how to use the Serger. The first week of Jan I was gunho on making quilts finished one and started another and its been hanging on my wall half done. Well this morning I just finished putting on the final borders and will sandwich and quilt it today and hopefully get the binding on. If not today I will finish it tomorrow. I made the drunkards path with not curves to sew...just slice and dice. I have also decided for my New Years Resolution that I was not going to buy any more fabric unless it is a fat qtr here and there and only if the price is under 1.00 at my LQS - they have deals several times a year...I did go on Jan 1st but have not gone to any other sales...hoping I do not this year. I also have been buying yarn and have a nice stash and will now try and learn to knit. Utube is great!!! Hope it always stays free...I am trying to learn as much as I can before they start charging...It really much help the companies out there with us being able to learn how to do these crafts for free. I thank all the people out there who have taken their time and knowledge to help others learn. I for one make no money off quilting and other crafts...but I love to make for others and its so nice to do something creative on the weekends instead of just shopping and watching TV. Well...off I go to finish my brothers quilt...I hope. Have a wonderful weekend...and hope you all stay warm. Oh...and what have you done new this year?
