Well, all of the worrying about the show us where you're from doll quilt and all for nought. This is an original design, the main sections of the bridge are black fabric with the details thread painted. Now I need to make one for DH.

    This is wonderful!! I love the colors. To me, it reminds me when the sun goes down and the world is all pink.....Your little DQ gives off a wonderful vibe.

    I agree, this is great! I just cannot get my head around thread painting -- I admire others who can. My November DQ I received was fabulous with thread painting. Oh, well, I'll go on piecing and having fun!

    Leslie, just try it--it's like free motion embroidery on steroids. I used a very narrow zig zag so you can't see if my lines weren't perfectly straight. And you can see the inspiration in person. Just drive up to Duluth and look through the lift bridge at sunrise on a slightly foggy but not really foggy morning. And stop at the quikt shop in Superior (home of the Lil twister) on your way through.
