I made all of my 8 grandkids scrubs to sleep and play in. They loved them. They were ages 2 to 8. I let the older ones tell me what they wanted on fabric and what color. Ex. Blue with fish..... there are real easy patterns. They all wore them until they were knee length!
Also made them quillows! cute sleeping blankets with attached pillow. Nancy's notions has pattern.
I made capes for my boys for my boys they played with those for years. I made some special pillow slips and backpacks which they loved too.
Costumes are cool too, there's a lot of "play" costumes for girls, very few for boys.
I've made each of my 2 grandsons a tent... a fabric tent that could be slipped over a card table so they could have a hidey-hole... its given each of them countless hours of imaginative play.
