Kids and I have settled into a " school " routine. We have a song and story after breakfast, are doing memory work at mealtimes, and oldest gets some extra projects/games during youngest's naptime. Both look forward to the scheduled time and dislikethe weekends whenthe schedule shifts to accomodate dad.
I've been busy stalking Becky Higgins blog as she is going to release a preview of next years Project Life designs. Today she previewed the new albums made by We R Memorykeepers. I think based on the preview that I'll be using the "cobalt" design. The Amber and Tangerine look to be so cute, but with two little boys something more streamline graphic will fit our family pictures better. I LOVE Project Life. It has really simplified the scrapbooking process for me. I'm not using a strict picture of the week format. I just include the highlights of the week. Some pages are all one event and others are PoTD. I have kept up with the journaling and just slip the photos into the slots when I get them printed. This is not about pretty artistic designs, but function. I am getting the photos off the computer and into a book that we all can enjoy and capturing the funny stuff the kids do and say as it happens.
In quilty happenings, I have put the GFG away. I just was not feeling it. I pulled out a sweater that I was knitting for my husband from my handspun yarn. I hope if it hit this hard to have it ready for Christmas. I have a few inches of body and two sleeves to go, but on a guy his size, that is no small undertaking.
I did get to a quilt shop this week. I won a drawing on the Inklingo blog and obtained a copy of the pickled clamshell pattern. At the shop, I purchased a bunch of fat quarters to start this quilt. I have planned for a throw but I kinda over purchased and might be able to enlarge it. I was considering a queen ( just because I normally only make bed quilts ) but I'm not sure that in want to make over 125 blocks. Yeah that attention span thing that has derailed GFG , DJ, QD etc. And that block count i high just because it is an interlocking pattern. We will see how it goes. I'm not going to cut everything up front so I can call it quits at any time without guilt.
