I'm working on reducing my scrap mess. If you are anything like me, it's hard to throw away any little piece of scrap fabric. I get to thinking that I could use that small piece for an applique project or for paper piecing. But, really, how many small scraps from my two laundry baskets full am I going to use like that? It's time to organize and get rid of some of these. So, I'm starting the "Scrap Therapy" program.
There are various patterns available for Scrap Therapy ranging from bags and notion organizers to full size quilts. I have been working for a while going through all of my scrap pieces and cutting them to standardized sizes according to the program. It seems to be taking FOREVER! There's only so many hours a day that I can sit there and cut.
But, I think it will be worth it. I am halfway through one of my baskets. I have an organized bin of pieces sorted between light, dark, and Christmas fabrics. The clutter reduction is well worth it already.
I can't wait to get all of my pieces sorted and chosen for my new scrappy quilt! I also can't wait to get all the scraps in my sewing room used up. I guess it's a great way to do a fabric diet too.
