NEW TO THIS SITE AFTER LOOKING AT ALL THE GORGEOUS QUILTS I DRAG OUT MY 18YR OLD HAND SAMPLER (12 OF THEM) HAVE A HARD TIME I JUST DON,T KNOW WHAT TO DO BLOCKS ARE STRETCHING?????

    Hi,
    This is my first post too.
    I might need more info but have you thought about stay stitching around the edge of each block? Remember at always "press" not iron them as any bias will stretch.

    Pin them to the ironing board, carefully measuring to be sure your block is square and the correct size, starch rather heavily, and press it into submission. The quilt police will never see. If it's not too far off, sometimes you can ease the block into place when you sew the top together. If you hand pieced, I think this is easier to accomplish because the seams are softer.
