We will be traveling to the Springfield/Decatur area next week. Any suggestions of 'must see' quilt shops?

Thanks in advance for your input!

I don't know of any in that area...but what route are you taking to get there. Maybe people know some along the highways/tollways you'll be traveling.

OOO Well, In rochester (just a few miles out of sfield is Piece and applique. HUGE amount of fabric and awesome people. Then there is Sew Unique on grand avenue. Not a lot of fabric, but they of stuff you don't see everywhere and are super nice, too.

Here are the sites. You really wouldn't believe how much Rochester has. WOW> I always go to both. we only live an hour from there. Which sounds far to a lot of people, but when you live in the middle of no where, you have to dirve at least 10 miles just to get to the nearest gas stations. LOL

 I know what you mean about the middle of no where! That describes us perfectly.

Thanks, everyone, for the information. I will enjoy going to the shops!

I commute to Springfield to work. There are two JoAnn Fabrics and one Hancock Fabrics in addition to the Piece and Applique quilt shop in Rochester. The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum in Springfield is certainly worth visit, a very interesting place. Lincoln's home and tomb are also in Springfield.

Farther afield, toward Peoria, are two nice quilt shops. The Quilt Shop is in Morton and Peddler's Way Quilt Co. is in Washington. Both are worth a visit if you are over that way.

I think this shop is now located in Rochester, where Piece and Applique is...just about 15 minutes from Springfield.
