Rebecca's Reel Quilters “Color My World” Quilt Show May 18-19 in Poricy Park, Middletown, NJ

Rebecca’s Reel quilters explore the magic of fabrics, prints, and colors in bold imaginative combinations in their biennial exhibition. The “Color My World” show runs Friday and Saturday, May 18 and 19, 2012, from 10 am to 4 pm at Poricy Park, 345 Oak Hill Rd. in Middletown.

More than 150 quilts will be displayed, all made by members of Rebecca’s Reel. Included are traditional and contemporary pieced quilts, applique, art and embellished quilts, innovative designs, wearable art, and group creations. A special theme “Hue and Me” challenges quilt artists to explore color in innovative and original ways, and invites visitors to vote for their favorites. Professional judges will award ribbons in categories including “Best in Show.”

Quilts will be displayed in four Poricy Park buildings: the historic Murray Farmhouse and Barn, the Annex, and the Nature Center. In addition there will be refreshments, demonstrations, hand-crafted quilts for sale, and displays by batik artist Suzanne Egan-Hill, and specialty vendors Fabric Inspirations, Mouse Creek Quilts, Mile Square Fabric Studio, and Bernina of Matawan.

A portion of every sale at this exhibition, as well as all proceeds of the annual November quilt raffle support Poricy Park Conservancy. This year’s colorful hand-crafted king size raffle quilt will be displayed and raffle tickets will be available to purchase at the “Color My World” Quilt Show. (2012 Raffle Quilt Info)

Admission is $5, children 8 and under free. Tickets may be purchased at the door.
