Places not to missed?
#1
I will be traveling to Seattle WA area in March and was wondering if anyone from the area can suggest "not to be missed" places to visit. I will also be going down to Portland OR, so need suggestions for Portland too. Of course, quilt shops are on the top of my list, but my hubby would probably like to see something else too! Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated! THANKS :)

In Portland check out Fabric Depot. It's on my list for next time I'm there. As far as non-quilting sites you might want to consider the Japanese Garden, Pittock Mansion, Classic Chinese Garden and Rose Garden. Can you tell we're garden people? LOL Summer is the best time for the Rose Garden but the others would be nice any time of year. Also on the weekend I think it's called the Saturday Market. We visit Portland quite often but haven't made it to Seattle yet so I can't help there.

March 3-6th is the big sewing/quilting expo in Puyallup, not far from Seattle. Nancy Zieman and Ricky Timms are scheduled there this year.
The Space Needle, Pikes Place Market, Fisherman's Wharf, a ferry ride.
Tacoma has an awesome Aquariam (better than Seattle's IMHO) at Point Defiance. It is on the way to Portland.
Portland: Multnomah Falls, a bit of a drive outside of Portland but well worth the trip! The drive up and down the gorge is beautiful!! Seaside is only an hour drive and a lot of activities there on the coast.

If you go to Pike Place Market in Seattle, there is a small but good quilthop there.
Bayside quilts is in Olympia, close to the capital building, very well known shop..
I could go on and on.....what are your husbands interests?
