As a Canadian Snow Bird, I will be spending the winter months in Florida, between Fort Myers & Fort Lauderdale. Since we shop at both cities I need some advice as to where to shop for quilting fabrics. Your help would be much appreciated.

I already wrote what's available on the SE coast (from Jupiter to Miami) in this post:
http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-79514-1.htm#1964095 While I haven't checked out every shop on the west coast, I will tell you that the http://www.quiltlovershangout.com/ is one of my favorite shops. It's located in a sort of deserted shopping center behind a Perkins(?). If you enter right by the Perkins, it's towards the shops in the back to your right. I really, really like the Hangout. Not far from the Hangout, is http:www.susieqquilts.com - I've never been. I don't know why since it's so close. Next trip for sure. http://www.sewstudio.com/ is in Naples, not far off of 75. I think they used to have a shop in Ft. Myers too but it, like many others in the area, closed in recent years. I'm sure others more local to the SW coast can add to the list. Enjoy your stay! And if you can edit the thread title to reflect "Florida Fabric Shops," that would probably be more helpful to other readers. |

Duh. Maybe that's because I put the wrong link in the post upthread.
Try this link to the list of SE Florida (Jupiter to Miami) quilt shops: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-79514-1.htm#1964095 Sorry about that. |

I didn't include them in my original list of shops because I never think of them having a large fabric selection. But, yes, I have heard the customer service is great. But I'll stop by to check it out - I'm always up for a new fabric experience. |
