We always stay in marion. Only takes me about 45 minutes. ;) if you stay in marion, drive into town and eat at Walt's. Great pizza and other food. And adult beverages after a long day if elbows in your sides. Lol

i always enjoy the quilt museum i think if you have never been before you should put this as one of the top things to visit

We stayed in a town outside of it about 10 from paducah. Hampton they were always give us great service to quilters. Think town started with letter o. Will ask dh since he always booked it for us. Once we waited 3 weeks before the show and called the convention. They gave us a list of people who booked various rooms but did not fill. You can try that. They were from a group who maybe someone changed their mind in the last minute but still had to pay for the room. Hope that helps. Love the show nd worth going for more than a day.

PADUCAH lodging
 

Check out www.theMaryJanePaducah.com - room 3 blocks from show and museum. Flying into St Louis, remember rush hour traffic - it's a big city. You will drive close to the Arch on the way across the bridge to IL - it's worth seeing as is the St Louis Zoo. Driving down to Paducah from St Louis ( 3 full hours of farms and interstate) you will pass through some nice wine country (tasting and tours are available) and antiquing - but Paducah and several towns nearby have some great antiquing.

The quilt museum is a must see! and Handcocks of Paducah, (not the chain store) they have a list of things to see that fit every taste at the show. Hope to see some of you there, I live about 45 min. from Paducah, i look forward to the show each year. Enjoy all who are going~~~~~~~~~~~

ky lake is real close hubby can fish.....we stayed in eddyville .....

I'm local and my mom is one of the YoYo Ladies. Ask anything you want, but most everyone has given some really good suggestions. There is a mall near the Hancocks with a big Gander Mountain store if your hubby likes outdoorsy things, the casino over in Metropolis if not.The murals on the floodwall are interesting and there are some cool shops downdown that aren't quilty...lots of antique stores, Kirchoff's Bakery (YUMM!!) There's an artist colony area that might be interesting in Lowertown too. Those of you who haven't any reservations yet, might try the KY Dam Marina...they have houseboats for rent that are wonderful...fully stocked with everything you need but clothes and food.

this is one thing i have never took advantage of did not know if it was good or bad food but i see its going for a good cause and sounds like its good will try it this year

The church meals are wonderful! I'll get the schedule from Mom and get it posted here. You get great local home cooking and good value for your money. One of the churches even has a 'dessert room' with tons of sweet treats!
