I would like to know if there is any interest in have a meet and greet for those of us on the board in or near the Houston Area. If so, let me know. If there's enough of us, let's do it! We could have a sew in, or a retreat even!

I have a time share on Lake Conroe and a few of us get together once a month. We have not over the summer because it was so hot. If there is any interest I will be happy to offer it as a place to meet.

I am in the Richmond area between Katy and Sugar Land. Where are you Ms Patty? Wini what part of Houston?

I think this is a great idea for my area also...AZ. I have been wanting to attend the Houston Quilt Show for a few years now anyway. Wouldn't it be great if you had a meet and greet during the show? I understand one has to plan on attending the show a year ahead of time just to get a hotel. Anyway, it just sounds like a great time.

yes-- let's try to meet during the Houston show!! we'll be there Friday night and Saturday for certain, and could be convinced to stay through Sunday if we have a chance to meet and play crafts & quilting!!

I also live in Tomball, but would be happy to meet somewhere between Richmond and Tomball for lunch. Maybe we should do a lunch or dinner first to meet everyone before trying to plan a retreat together. How far from Houston is Richmond? I get all those cities mixed up around Houston :)

And Oldfarmgirl, my Mom will be coming to the Houston show from San Antonio. We've been the past few years and stay down in a hotel from Wednesday to Sunday usually. She is on the quilt board too. (she introduced me to it). Have you met anyone from San Antonio on the board? She had lunch with a group once I know. Her board name is marjean36, you may have already met her. Marjorie Brown is her real name.

We'd love to meet up with some of you there too. And Debby, my Tomball neighbor, let's do lunch!

Hi Patty. That's a great idea...let's get together. When and where. I am retired so mostly any time is good with. I need to let you know that I am a beginner quilter...I have just worked on blocks. I go to prayers and squares at a chuch near me (not my church) and there are several people that try to teach a block class and answer questions free of charge. Anyways let me hear from you. I am located on Louetta and 249.

Yes, I live in Lakewood Grove Subdivision. This is on Louette across from Heatherwood. As I mentioned I will be gone Thursday thru next Monday but would like to get together to quilt. Keep me updated.

It just depends...I work and they don't so we try to meet on Saturdays every other month or so. We also go to retreats on quilt shows together.

Patty have you attended the Quilters Group that meets at The Red Barn twice a year. It is sponsered by the Sewing Machine Warehouse. I believe the quilters meet from Thursday thru Sunday late. I have attend once and did enjoy meeting area quilters. This group meet twice a year.

Just throwing some locations that might work for a meet and greet. The Whistle Stop in Tomball is a good eats place in the Tomball area for a meet and greet get together. Most Denny's have a meeting room and they are everywhere. For a central location there is Niko Niko's on Montrose in Houston. They have great gyros.
Or we could see how many of us will be at the Quilt Show and when. We could meet in the Food Court and make further plans from there.

How many of you will be at the quilt show this week? Maybe we could meet one evening. Maybe Thursday evening at 5 either at a restaurant or hotel? Or does everyone have busy plans at the show with classes, etc and we could meet another time in November after the show.

Could we meet at 5 p.m. at the Hilton Americas lobby area on Thursday of the quilt show. That's in 2 days. Anyone that can come please do. I'll try to have a pin that identifies me as a QBer. I love in Richmond TX.

I live in the Tyler area in NE Texas. I plan to attend the quilt show in Houston. Although I am not sure where the Houston Americas is, I will try to find out and be there. So excited about the quilt show and the meet and greet. Hope to see you there on Thursday at 5:00pm.

It is actually the Hilton Americas (I had put Houston - sorry). When you walk out of the George R Brown Convention Center to the sidewalk it will be to your left on the side street. It is pretty close.
I love the Tyler area. Look forward to seing you.

Totally haven't seen this before!!! I'm in NE Houston area. :) I'm in Old Town Spring like every other week or so...LOL! Would love to meet up one day. Maybe we could do a Saturday brunch or meet for coffee somewhere and say HOWDY!!! :)
