Anyone attending the International Quilt Festival in Houston this year? I'm so fortunate to have a son and his family living near there so I can visit them and my sweet little grandchildren and the show with all the vendors and quilts. I might even find the perfect gifts for my secret santa at the show. I'm so excited.

I would love to!!! Maybe someday!!!

There are a bunch of us going.
There is a thread that was started about it |
I have never been and would love to go, but can't this year. I'm hoping next year will be my year.

I just went to the Austin Quilt show and loved it. But not sure if we will go to the Houston one.. There is a group that is going from Bastrop Senior Center on a bus... I am a beginner quilter and just have done some pillows and quillows. Don't have the time to really do a lot of quilting right now but still buy quilting stuff every chance I get... LoL. But friends are trying to get hubby and me to go..I just signed up here tonight..looks like you have a great group..Hugs Patricia

I wish that EVERY quilter could attend the International Quilt Festival in Houston at least once in their lives. Believe me, it is an incredible experience, worth every sacrifice to get there, worth every night in a hotel to stay more than two days and take a class, as well as see all the vendors and quilts. Literally impossible to really do it all in a one day visit.
A must-have adventure! Jan in VA, formerly from TX |
Well I not sure if we will get to go as it is all filled up for the bus trip we are on the waiting list and there is 4 ahead of us....didn't know it would fill up that fast...But there is still a chance...But at least my friend got on and she will take pictures for me...I was just working on a pillow for Christmas for my daughter. I am going to a class on paper piecing on Friday with a friend..Have a great rest of the week...Hugs Patricia

I'm going and have gone for many many years! I love this show!! I have even gone alone, but with so many quilters ther you never feel alone! Meeting up with a few friends this year from a chat group I go to every morning so will be much more fun!!!! Can't wait......I have made 2 need bags and taking 2 half day classes!

Attended for 12 years when I lived in Houston. Have encouraged friends to go that have never been to a "big" show and they come back with eyes glazed over and plans to return. It really is quilt overload and can't be done in one day but worth every minute and everyone who can should go.
|
I will attend again  for the 9. time .I live in central TX so is not that far cant wait
|
I plan to go, but I live in Katy, so I'm looking for a way to get there on public transportation, since traffic is so bad and parking is so high.
