Lancaster, anyone going?

Heading up to Lancaster next Wednesday for the AQS show and from what I understand there is another smaller show also. Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions on restaurants etc. We do have a list of quilt shops to visit but I hear they are super crowded when the shows are going on.

I'm going. I will be demoing at that show. This will be my first time in that area.

Yes, I'm going, and I live less than an hour away. There are two smaller shows. One at the Continental Hotel, with this website: http://lancasterquiltshow.webs.com/ One at the Host Resort with this website: http://lancasterquiltshow.com/ The first show mentioned is free, the second charges $3.00 admission. Both of these are located on Rt. 30 across the street from one another. They are in addition to the AQS show in downtown Lancaster. I don't know how crowded the quilt shops in the area will be, but I know that most of them will have extended hours. I talked to one shop owner the other day, and she's staying open until midnight!!! As far as restaurants, you can find anything in the Lancaster area....every chain restaurant, Amish, etc. etc. If you need any further info, just let me know! Be happy you're not coming this week....Lancaster may have 6 inches of snow tomorrow!

hi maureen! i'm from long island. myself and 2 friends will be driving down. we've gone every year for the past 3-4. shops have extended hours. usually til 8. old country store is til 12. most shops have batiks on sale for 5.49. we head up north first (miller's fabric). 3.49 flat fold. we love this place. there are a few shops in this area we go to. then we go to shady maple for smorgasboard & then over to goods for fabric. i have a whole itinerary if you'd like. we found miller's to be the best because of the price, selection and quality of fabric. oh sure there are loads others. but not at this price and selection.

I will be in the booth for Maine-ly Sewing. I'm not quite sure where she is at. I will be demoing the Creative Grids Quick Trim Ruler and also StoryPatches (they allow you to add voice, video, text and/or photos to your quilting, crafting, scrapbook, and other projects. There are also many other uses for them.) Stop by and say hello and watch my demos.

RO, where is Miller's Fabric? Also, if Hayloft Fabrics or Bitte Kinna's are on your itinerary, they are both closed. There is a new store in Blue Ball. I think it's called Family Farm Fabrics.

Great place to eat is Dienner's Resturant. They have a small but very good buffet or you can choose a menu. We just always get the buffet. Their address is 2855 Lincoln Hwy, East [rt.30] Ronks, PA 17572 Hours Mon - Thurs., Sat 7am to 6pm, Fri. 7am to 8pm.

Bird in Hand has a great family restaurant and there are a couple of fabric shops close by. Burkholders is a little further out but wow what a selection and great sales and prices for fabric. They are coming as vendors to our show in Aug 8,9, 10 in DE .....Diamond State Quilt Show we will have great vendors and catered lunch by Honey Baked Ham Cafe. Hubby and I are getting to the Lancaster show on Wed....look up the show AQS on line ( GPS info) you can park your car and catch the shuttle which will take you to the front of convention center 5 bucks cheaper than trying to get a parking spot in town.

If you would like a nice place for dinner that's NOT an "all you can cram in", try The Cork Factory. It's a renovated Armstrong cork factory . The food is excellent, and has a very cool ambiance, but is definitely more upscale.
