Just curious if there are many quilters in the west Phoenix area? (I'm in Litchfield Park). I don't want to join a Guild just yet, because I'm just starting out.

I will be in Quartzsite for 3 months and plan on going to the Phoenix craft and sewing festival in Jan. maybe we could meet there pm me will also be visiting in Sun City

I live in casa grande and am looking for ladies to sew with because the quilt place i went to every thursday sold and the owner moved to Missouri. The shop was called Kokopelli.Now I have no one to sew with and miss the ladies i used to sew with. I'm a snowbird and live in south Phoenix. We will be in Phoenix at the beginning of January. I also don't drive at night. Your about 28 miles away.

Yes, I've been to In Stitches! Though it was for business, not pleasure! (I work for the City of Goodyear) I haven't had a chance to go in there and actually browse yet. Is Jan on the forum? I know they have nighttime sessions too... Fridays, I think?

Ohh boy! I did some shopping yesterday and today! (well... tons of shopping for me. for you professional stash-stockers here, maybe not... ;))

I got 2 yards of fleece, 2 yards of minky, a yard of 'regular' material (just because it was too cute to pass up!) then today I got a large angel panel and some gold fabric to go with it to make a throw for my grandma's Christmas present. I got a great deal on all the fleece and minky; the 3-day sale at Joann's; spent $37, saved $42.

Yeah, baby!! Love it when I save more than I spend!!! Now to get to work on some baby quilts!

On that note, any local gals want to come sew with me? :D

OK, just wanted to update this now that you snowbirds are here. Exactly when/where is the quilt show? And how much to get in? I would love to try to go with some of you!

I am now in Quartzsite and the show is at the fairgrounds Jan 31st Feb 1st and second 10.00 each good for all 3 days but is or was 10.00 a day to park I am hoping to be able to go 2 days and would like to meet up I will be staying in Sun City during that time and you can also get info by going to Phoenix sewing and craft festival

Looks like it will be fun! We can meet beforehand and ride together to save money on parking. I think all of the events at the fairgrounds are $10 parking; must be a set fee for the lot.

I don't know where Litchfield Park is at but if you want to PM me we can make arrangements

Dodie- We drove through Quartzite on Saturday! I don't know if I'll make it to the show this year, but I'd love to see you, and some new faces too!

Megan- how old is your son? Will you be bringing him? Mine is 2-1/2, if I can leave him with a friend I will, but I may have to bring him again. I'm on the other side of the world (valley) from you, in AJ, but it's nice to see younger quilters on here! :)
