Quilt Hawai'i on Kaua'i -- June 28 through July 1
Aloha All -- just a quick note to alert those who might be travelling to the island of Kaua'i next week on vacation -- save a few hours for the Quilt Hawai'i Show -- it opens to the public on Thursday afternoon, and runs through the weekend. We love our visiting quilters! The event moves around the islands, and we are so pleased to have the show both this year and next on Kaua'i. There's more info on the internet if you need it....hope to see many many quilters there! :cool:

I went to Quilt Hawaii several years ago and had a blast! They were so well organized and lots of great activities and side trips. And of course the scenery is so beautiful!

Lets see JanieH - you are from HOUSTON... talk about QUILT SHOWS....so glad you enjoyed ours! There's a group of friends who leave Kaua'i and go to the Houston show every year, there are 10-12 of them...I've been invited when someone can't attend (the rooms are booked a year in advance) -- times have not worked out in my schedule yet, but one day they will......This is my first Quilt Hawaii-- it was held on Kaua'i in 2008 - due to family issues I was on the mainland for 6 months....now finally! Planning on " Having a Blast"....Marylou

OK - the only thing on my bucket list is Hawaii. Now, in 2013 - when and where? Maybe this will get me planning!!

In 2013, we will be having our 30th wedding anniv. and I have been talking to my husband about going to Hawaii again. We haven't been to Kaua'i. Now, we can target a date and place to be. I hope it works out. I would love to go to the show and maybe take a class. Thanks for letting us know.

Ah Hawaii ..... wish I could go also. I was on the island of Kaua'i in 1986 and I made a point to stop in at the Kapaia Stitchery shop to buy some Hawaiian fabrics and some cross-stitch. I just looked that shop up to see if it was still there and yep, it is although Julie, the owner, sadly passed away a few years ago. I was so glad to see that the shop is still there though. Hope you have a great time! Kaua'i was/is a beautiful place. (It's weird that this was just posted because earlier today my dh pulled out some photos that we took in '86 when we were there. What are the chances of that happening? I looked a bit younger in the shots. lol)

Will post the information on the 2013 Quilt Hawaii show as soon as it's available...couldn't find anything online about it...2012 show opens tomorrow afternoon! Living over here where it's not possible to just make a day trip, or even a weekend excursion with friends to a nearby show -- it's a cross we have to bear. Not complaining...just explaining!
