Wow! Wish I lived closer too. Looks like it will be great fun.
|
There was one here in VA a month ago. We always go, and the only thing I do is sit there and watch the quilts sell. Love it!

JUST got home..worked from 3-8pm...wore me out..BUT I did meet another member from the QB!
She and her lovely daughter...we chatted for a half hour I know....she also lives in the same town that I do...how cool is that? OH..so far I bought a wheel of baby swiss cheese, a half wheel of butter cheese, 3 pounds of shoulder bacon, 3 bags of jerky for the guys, a bag of kettle corn and a box full of sewing goodies! |
OH I wish I had the gas to get there! I was trying to figure out how to get the moterized wheel chair and the manual chair so both my dh and mother could be there but we don't have the gas this year :(
I love going... but have missed the past two years... Be sure to get some of the pepper nuts... a traditional Mennonite cookie and the Russian Pancake booth and Wedding cookie booth are operated by my church :D Jacquie what church do you go to? |
Jacquie, it was SO much fun to meet you :) I was bowled over when I went to pay for my item and realized it was YOU running that booth! And I can't believe the bargain I got - a 1950s PINK TORPEDO Singer buttonholer. Certainly made my day! I finally had to go home because the smells from all that wonderful cooking was driving me crazy and making me starve, but the lines were so long that I didn't want to wait.
I was amazed at the fabric and patterns you were putting out for sale. And when I get a little further into restoring these vintage machines, I'll be calling you for parts. I'm hoping to make it back out this morning to watch the auction for the quilts. And you are right..that little Dressmaker was sweeeet! Wonder what she will go for. Hmmmmm.... that might be an auction to watch, too. Don't work too hard today, and once again, it was SO great to meet you!! |

I do not belong to any church here. Just that this group of people play a special role in my life and I feel honored to be able to help them out in any way I can! |
OH Monna....how exciting...I am on my way back out there as well and really want to watch that little dressmaker...I also have my eye on 2 quilts!....OY...and me with NO job..hehehe
|
Okay..I'm dying to know... what did the Dressmaker sell for? And did you get the quilts? Which one won People's Choice? And how much did it sell for? LOL Can you tell I didn't make it back out there? I loved that bargello in the round, but was disappointed in the center of it. They had appliqued a circle in it, and it was barely stitched down. Otherwise, that was my favorite! DD loved the batik with the fabulous hand quilting... such tiny, even stitches! Some pretty fabulous quilts there, for sure.
