I will be in Denver-Estes Park area in late September for a wedding. Never been there before. Can you recommend quilt shops to visit?

Here's some to try out:
In Estes Park: http://www.cottageblissestes.com/index.html http://www.mtnladyquilt.com/ Denver area: http://www.threadbearquilts.com/ (Longmont) http://www.greatamericanquilt.com/ (Denver) http://www.fabricexpressions.com/ (Littleton/Denver) http://www.harriethargrave.com/default.asp (Wheatridge/Denver) http://www.emilyssewing.com/ (Lakewood/Denver) Need any more suggestions? Along the "front range" of Denver and into Wyoming there are many very nice shops. You'll have a good time exploring, I'm sure! |
In Addition, you might want to check out:
Creative Needle - Broadway & Ridge Road Holly's Quilt Cabin - County Line Road and Holly Tomorrow's Heirlooms - 132nd & I-25 Sewciety - Castlerock, Co High Prairie Quilts, Parker, CO I frequent Great American as well as all of the above when I am in their areas. I have not been to Sewciety, but know people who have. There are several nice shops down in the Colorado Springs area too that I have been to & like very much. Happy Shopping & Quilting, Susan |
Tomorrow's Heirlooms is across from a new Walmart. great store. i'm in Broomfield and go there often.
|
There is also a fabric outlet shop in colorado springs. I have to go down there !!!!! It is called mill outlet fabric shop , 2609 N. Prospect. also ladybug hill quilts 955 E, Fillmore St.
Hope this helps |
If you're there long enough look for the Denver Museum, they had a permanent quilt collection when I was there in the 90s Also the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum, which in addition to quilt exhibits has a neat shop

I was just in Denver Fabrics a few months ago and have a pretty good supply of quilting 100% fabric.
all the shops mentioned are good I frequent them all ... |
I was in Denver last week visiting my son and family. I always make a trip to The Great American Quilt Factory when I am there. We also went to Golden to the quilt museum. Each time that I have been there, they are displaying different quilts.
|
Gee, they didn't have all of those places when I lived there. Mayby next time I visit I can visit some of them.
Then again, I was not quilting then so was not looking for them. Thanks. |
You MUST stop at the best QUILT shop : Quilting Hands, in Lyons, on the way up to Estes Park. DON'T MISS !!
wait till you see the selection of sale fabric. |

Planning a trip to Estes Park in July so this is verytimly. Getting husband to stop is another matter.
|
Yes, quilting is strong in Colorado and lots of places to browse in on the front range. But, will save you a few minutes, Great Am. Quilt Factory closed this early spring 2011 and Emily's Basket is having a closing sale right now, many others are still there and going strong. Enjoy your trip. Kathy

Does anyone know about Harriet's treadle art shop? It looks like it is just off the interstate and about 10 miles (or minutes) from the airport.
|
NOOOOOOOOO !!!!! I live in Las Vegas and spend a lot of time in Denver. I'll be moving there next year. I LOVE Emily's Sewing Basket! Such a wonderful staff! Sorry to see them go.
Another favorite place is Golden Quilt Co. It's just a block away from the Rocky Mtn quilt Museum on a great touristy main street in Golden. |
