Will be going to Flat Rock Michigan and Kalamzoo Michigan for two funerals on Fri and Sat. Are there any quilt shops close by.

bite my lip..............so many funny responses come to mind!
Only a quilter would tie a quick jaunt to the L.Q.S. to help her thru the sorrows of a funeral.
Good luck!!

I am truly sorry for your losses.

Grandma Lehr I had the same response as you-giggles. Gotta love quilters!! What's that saying about making lemonade out life's lemons? Well, dharen, you're making a quilt out of a sad situation. Not laughing at you--sorry for your losses and have a safe trip.

I have the Quilters Travel companion (don't leave home without it! ) and it says there are 3 quilt stores in Kalamazoo and one in Schoolcraft. Not sure if that's still current, but if you go to www.quilterstravelcompanion.com
you should be to find quilt shops and maps to the stores.

Safe travels to you!

My oldest cousin passed away 3 wks ago and then his dad (my uncle) passed away 4 days later. Happened in Texas and its taken this long to get them home. It was either quilt shops or casino. I think I'd like quilt shop better won't spend as much. But my momma would like the casino

Don't know the routes you'll be taking from Uniontown to K-zoo, but there is an absolutely unbelievable quilt store called The Door Mouse in the tiny town of Bettsville, Ohio on route 12. It's in a barn and it is LOADED with fabrics! Very well organized and managed. I try to get over that way at least twice in the winter, but it sure puts a crunch in my credit card! It's just west and south of Fremont. And also in Bettsville is a "diner" that makes the best homemade pies ever.... yummm.

And then of course, if you take the turnpike, you could stop at Shipshewana, but not on Sunday.

The Quilt Shop, located in Marshall, is easy to find from the freeway. Also, Unique threads is right off 94 in Battle Creek.
