Default Quilt Board Retreat, LaGrange Texas Feb 9-12

Good Afternoon, Ladies!

Now that the Houston Quilt Market and Festival are behind me. I can begin to concentrate on our Quilt Board retreat in LaGrange, Texas, Feb 9-12. I hope you will be able to make it, as we are going to have a great time! RR Retreats by Margie is a wonderful, new, clean, relaxing place up on a hill top with a fabulous view of the Texas landscape! Please check out the retreat center for yourself at : http://rr-retreats.com/.

Each room sleeps 6 ladies. Some rooms have a Queen and King size bed as well as twin size. Those that know each other may need to bunk together when possible. Let me know if you are willing to do so when you send your deposit. That will help with room assignments greatly. In the work room, each person will have a 4 ft table with it's own lighting and electrical outlets, extention cord, etc. There are 6 cutting tables placed around the room for easy cutting and several ironing stations as well. Being a quilter herself, Margie has really tried to think of everything you could possibly need when setting up our work area. There is a shelved area to store some of your supplies until you are ready for them. There is a great new snack cabinet to keeps our snacks handy for easy munching.

There is a full kitchen complete with ice maker, two ovens, stove, dishwasher and full pantry for our use. Margie is available to cook two meals a day at a cost of $10 each meal, or we can "team cook" our own food and save on cost. If we vote for Margie to cook, she will cook 2 meals (lunch, dinner) on Friday and 2 meals on Saturday, and 1 meal, (breakfast) on Sunday for a total of $50. Please let me know your thoughts on this as to which you prefer, we will go with the majority vote on weather we cook ourselves or pay Margie to cook for us. I will bring muffins, cereal, fruit, etc for breakfast items.

Here is the cost for lodging. You can add up the cost depending on how many nights you plan to stay. Please also let me know that when you register.

Thursday Night Lodging: $55
Friday Night Lodging: $65
Saturday Night Lodging: $65
3 Nights lodging is $185 NOT including meals. (Add $20 a day if we have Margie cook for us)

You will need to bring your own toiletries. Sheet and towels are provided.

The theme for our retreat is RED since Valentine's Day is just a few days after our retreat. If you would like to make a small table favor for each person you may do so. It is OPTIONAL, but always fun! We will be having a RED GIFT EXCHANGE GAME. If you would like to participate, please bring a wrapped RED gift valuing $15-$20 (can be handmade) to play a game. We like to play the "steal the gift from your neighbor game". Where when your number is called you either get to pick a new gift from the table, or take one from someone that has already been opened! (third possessor gets to keep the gift, Number 1 gets to go first AND last) If this type of game is not for you, i.e. it's hard for you to part with a gift once it's been opened, participation in this game is OPTIONAL.

Also, the new Quilt Museum in LaGrange, Texas just had their Grand Opening this past Sunday. They have some awesome quilts on display. We can also plan to take a road trip into town for those that would like to check it out either Fri or Sat, or both! LOL!

I think I've covered everything I can think of. Remember when you register to let me know how many nights you plan to stay, your vote as to weather to "team cook", or have Margie cook, weather you are willing to bunk with a friend, and if you would like to participate in the gift exchange game. To hold your spot for the retreat a $50 deposit is due DEC. 15th! Please send your deposit and registration form that is attached to Cindy Witt, 2418 Willow Bend Drive, Richmond, Texas 77406. We only have 18 spots available so please send your RSVP, ASAP!

Greatly looking forward to meeting each one of you and spending some quality quilting time together!!!

Hugs and Stitches,
Cindy

oh it’s sad, well you should have done more campaigning for it, next time use a strategy and get proper response. All the best and organize a camp soon. See ya!
