I'm fortunate enough to be on the lovely island of Oahu for a wonderful vacation with my hubby of 41 years. Does anyone know of any quilt shops that I need to visit while I'm here? Believe it or not - it was my DH's idea to take a day and hit as many quilt or fabric shops I can. You better believe, I'll take him up on his offer!!

Go to Fabric Mart...there are several on Oahu....all kinds of fabric, especially hawaiian prints. There is one in Pearl City and Honolulu.

I don't know names, but my friend shopped there and brought back some lovely fabrics. Sorry that isn't much help, but hope you find a great shop because the fabric is fun and beautiful.

Maybe someone on the hotel staff could give you some tips.

I believe there are 3 on Oahu, one in Honolulu, one in Aiea, and one in Kaneohe, too, on the Windward side... (ask hotel staff directions)... lived there for nearly 3 years, loved it! Miss it! Enjoy your stay there, its beautiful no matter where you go :)

They have some phenomenal cottons as well as lighter weight muumuu fabrics, and some gorgeous dobbys! great prices, too! Wish I lived closer to you, I'd have you grab some for me, too :)

There are a couple great quilting stores in the Honolulu / Waikiki area, don't remember where, but they do the traditional pineapple wholecloth applique quilting. If you've never seen that in person, it's a wonderful experience to appreciate one of those quilts.

Wow, are you ever lucky to be in Hawaii, I really miss it. I lived there as a teenager. What a great hubby to want to shop the quilt stores, enjoy!
