Hi all. I'm going to the Lancaster PA area on Saturday and hope to visit some quilt shops I haven't been to before, but I only have one day to shop so I am hoping some here who have shopped some of the stores can give me advise.
I take a trip here once a year, and normally I shop at Zooks & The old Country Store both in Intercourse. I usually have my best luck at the Old Country store. I'm thinking this year instead going to Denver to Buckholders Fabrics and perhaps Saunders. Has anyone shopped these two, and would you say they are just as big as the stores I normally shop, or if you would recommend something else? Thanks.

http://www.hayloftfabrics.com/

This store is WONDERFUL! Nothing is price over $7.99 a yard and they have everything and a lot of it. The people are so friendly and helpful and when you finish shopping you can get a fabulous root beer float for $1.29 This store is in Morgantown, about 25 minutes from Denver. Also, everthing is 15% from now until July 31.

I also like Martins Fabric Barn in Lebanon. http://www.quiltart.com/fabricbarn.html
They have good prices, but the selection isn't as big, but I think they have very high quality fabrics. Also, they have a cute craft store upstairs and all aroundthem are cute Amish stores. This store is run by Menonitewomen/girls and they are so sweet.

I hope this is helpful : )

I have been to Burkholders and Sauders, both great shops.

Thank you very much! I've mapquested Buckholders to Saunders to Hayloft! Sounds like a great quilt shop hop to me! I appreciate your feedback, with little time to shop I didn't want to shop stores others didn't recommend!

Hayloft usually has an end of the month sale. You can check online to see if it is on Saturday.

We make a twice yearly trip to that area and Burkholders is our first stop. It is under a new management and the fabrics and prices are great.I never leave there without spending at least $100! A must stop. Also Weaver's Dry Goods has great selection. I was a bit disappointed in Sauders in June but maybe because they didn't have the specific fabric I was looking for. I wouldn't pass that one up either. Went to the Old Country Store for the first time last week. Didn't get to the Hayloft. Maybe on our return trip in Oct. Have fun!!

The Hayloft in Morgantown is a great store they have a 25% coupon on their web site for one yard of fabric for July and Aug.. They also take 10% if you have a guild card. I eas there last week. I also went to Obies that is on Rt 23 close to Hayloft it is a small place jammed with fabric at good prices.

Can you give me a link to the info for the shop hop? I can't go this year but would love to plan a vacation around one next year.
Thanks!

Don't miss the Binny Kinna Quilt Shop in Intercourse. Right on the Phil. Pike. As you head out of town towards Bird in Hand there is a quilt shop on the right (near the Amish Schoolhouse) (maybe Bird in Hand Quilt Shop) and they have great prequilted fabs for purses, totes, etc. Just before you go under the bridge in Bird in Hand there is another shop on the right (don't know the name). There is also a small shop a little further down the left with a little sign out front, Sylia's Quilts. I wish I had all the names, but I am in NH for the summer and all my notes for our annual trip in March are in FL. All these places sell fabric. We (8 of us) go every year and we look for new places always. We have not been happy with Burkholder's since it is under new ownership.
