S. E. Michigan Quilt Shop Visit in March
#1
I am trying to put together a visit to two quilt shops in Michigan for March. I have been to both of these stores, taken classes, bought material, and just gone in and browsed around. They are very friendly, nice and have lots to offer. I thought this would be fun to meet with fellow QB members who would like to visit these shops and get to meet each other.
The date chosen is Saturday, March 5, 2011.
The first shop is "The Pincushion" in Imlay City@ 113 E 3td St, Imlay city, MI 48444. (ph# 810-724-7065). We would meet there at 9:45 am. She has offered a discount for shoppers.
From there we could have lunch at Nachos in Imlay City. It is a Mexican restaurant and is reasonable and delicious. After lunch, we would visit, "Sisters in Quilting" in Marlette MI at 6407 Morris, Marlette, MI 48453 (ph 989-635-0300). She is offering to do a demo, bake a treat, (Deb makes awesome cinnamon rolls) and a discount. From my house in Romeo, this shop is about 50 minutes away. Those coming from the south on M53, could meet at my house in Romeo and we could car pool.
PM me if your interested as both shops have asked for a guestimate of how many people may come and if you want to carpool. They will bring in extra help if they feel they need it. I don't think you will be disappointed in either shop. Because of the distance I don't think we could fit in any more stores.

If anyone has any other ideas please let me know. It also might be fun if you brought a fat quarter to exchange when we meet for lunch. Please let me know by March 1 if you are able to attend.

I wish I could attend, but until May I am in Florida. I live in Lapeer, so this would be very close for me. Maybe we can do something in the summer or fall.
I know that you are going to enjoy each other so much you will want to meet up again.

I thought of stopping there but I didn't know if there would be enough time after reading the postings from the Dec trips some of the ladies had made. I wish I could do this during the week but I work then. Maybe we could arrange in summer another one during the week for those who work weekends.
