Looking for quilt shops in the San Clemente, California area - neighboring towns too. Will also briefly be visiting San Diego so if there is anything exceptional there I'd appreciate knowing. Thanks.

I am not familiar with the shops in San Clemente, but if you can get down to San Diego, here are some to see:

http://www.quiltersparadiseesc.com in Escondido

http://www.rosiescalicocupboard.com in San Diego

http://www.cozyquilt.com in Rancho San Diego

Hopefully the quilters that live north of me can help you with those closer to San Clemente

Lake Forest, CA, which is about 20 minutes north on the 5 Fwy has a GREAT shop (huge), called "Material Possessions". The phone number is 949) 586-3418. I lived just north of San Clemente for 18 years and this is the best, biggest shop around.

Mom and I went to Rosie's Calico Cupboard in February on the way home from a weekend in San Diego. It is a fantastic store! I highly recommend stopping there. It is in El Cajon, just east of San Diego(more like a suburb).

Material Possessions is now closed. It used to be my favorite even though it was a drive for me. However, I have heard that another quilt shop has opened in the same spot. I heard they had great fabric, but I haven't been there yet.

Oh, man!!! Maybe it's the same store but just a different name and different owners. It was really large and had a GREAT selection! Thanks for the info.

Material Possessions said that they were only going to be doing quilt shows with their fabrics now. I think the new name, fabrics, etc., is completely different , not just new owners.

Verna - thank you for the updated info. It is too bad that they've discontinued. I DID enjoy their store but I'm in South Dakota now, anyway.

We get great info on the quilting board - we all seem to know what someone else is asking about :D
