I'm taking a long weekend on Nov 4th to a friend's son's house (we're going to help him paint!!). Hopefully I'll get a little time to check out my surroundings :D Any suggestions???

Mary

There's Quilt Hut on Little Creek Rd.
There's a Hancocks on Virginia Bch Rd.
There's a few others, but I'm not at home at the moment, so can't find them, but if you PM lfw045, she can hook you up with a bunch. She's been here longer than me

tlrnhi had the name wrong....it is Fabric Hut on Little Creek Road in Norfolk.
All I can say about it is WOW...bring a tissue because you will be drooling over the huge amount of fabric they have, as well as patterns, notions, etc.
The Hancocks (Virginia Beach) will pale in comparison.
What's You Stitch n Stuff(VB)is also a great little shop - and the one closest to me.
The Quilting Bee is in Chesapeake - a bright, fun shop too.
If you need addresses PM me, I would be happy to assist further.

Thanks guys!! I don't know how much time I'll have, my friend's son is in the Navy and giving up his rental house because he's going to Afganistan the end of the year and we're going to help them get it painted and ready to hand back to the landlord, but I think I should be able to fit a little shopping in! :-D

I knew someone would jump in and help me with the names. I had a bunch of family members around me and trying to think was not an easy job.

Save driving to you, just let me say the drivers where you are going are not so nice. Glad I don't have to go thru that anymore.

We're flying down from Ohio and renting a car. I learned to drive in the snow belt, so I can maneuver pretty well   And in Columbus, I think no one was ever taught to drive properly :!: Or with any manners :!: But thanks for the warning :-)

Fabric Hut's website was down..anybody know the shop hours? Thanks
