Just curious -- anyone coming to the quilt show in a few weeks? It's July 10 this year! I've lived in Oregon all my life -- and within 1 hour and 15 minutes of Sisters.....and this is the FIRST show I'll get to go to!!!! Am catching a bus with my girlfriend in Bend and going to be there! Anyone else???

I've been trying to talk my sisters into going to this show for several years. I would love to go!

I will be there from July 3 to the 11th. Five friends and I rent a house in Eagle Crest and sew, sew, sew. Usually we all take a couple classes, but this year none of us found any that we really wanted to take, so a couple of our gals are going to have quilting classes right at the house. It should be fun. We do this every other year, and I am getting anxious. The show itself is absolutely wonderful. Hope the weather over there perks up. It hasn't been looking too great lately.

For those of you who don't know about this show, it is, I believe, the largest outdoor quilt show in the U.S., if not the world. There are classes every day for a week if you want to take them, and lots of lectures and other activities. The show itself is on Saturday (always the second Saturday in July) and quilts are hung all over town. There are quilts hung in the stores, but the majority of them are hung outside, from everything that a quilt can be hung from. It is absolutely awesome. If you ever get a chance, you should try to get there.

I went to the Sisters show a few years ago with 3 friends. We drove from Napa, CA and brought journals with us. We plotted our route to take us to as many quilt shops as we could possibly get to up and back again. We hit 39 shops! And that didn't count Sisters itself. We wrote about each shop in our journal -- the layout, the fabrics, the shopkeepers and the bathrooms (very important!). We had an incredible time and so made so many memories. So if you get an opportunity to make the trip -- do it! And hit as many quilt shops as you can!
What fun you will have!!!

I've lived in Oregon since 1983 and this will be my first year. I was going to go by bus, but my husband decided he would like to go, too. We are driving over. Can't wait. I promised a friend in Pennsyvania lots of pics.

Yes indeed. I have been there several times. I live in Dallas, Oregon and we have an RV. so we will go ahead of time because the crowd is so big that its hard to actually shop or look in the stores without being trampled. Take it from me to go a day ahead or stay a day after. Its only one day, so it gets bombarded from everywhere. It gets pretty hot most of the time too so take a hat. I hope the weather is good. We shall see. Good luck and have a good time.

You have a great shop in Dallas, too! Good point about the hat. Supposed to be in the 80s all week....looks like a HOT summer!!
