Thanks for all the quilt shops in Iowa. I know that I will be visiting a lot of them while I'm out there.

Fons & Porter are in Winterset, which is east, not west, of Des Moines. And if you SHOULD happen to be in the Amana Colonies, there are some. Don't remember all of the names other Fern's Antiques & Quilts. Ask anyone there. They will know.

Just so, you don't go in the wrong direction----Winterset, Iowa is Southwest of Des Moines, Ia. It's a beautifull town and has all those covered bridges besides Fons and Porter. Worth the trip. :D

I just got back from Iowa, 7/26/10 after spending 2 weeks there. Cedar Rapids has 2, one is in a deserted shopping mall with only a few large department stores and the other one is a really nice one which has a lot of stuff. I'm at work so I dont' remember the names. I also went to Winterset where the Fons and Porter shop is there. They have a quilt show on Sunday afternoon here in California. Also in Winterset is a the house where John Wayne was born. Winterset is in Madison County where there filmed Bridges of Madison County. If you want to send me a private message, I can look up other places I plotted to go to in Iowa but didn't get a chance.
