My sister and I will be visiting N.J. for our brother's 80th B.D. and hope to be able to visit some local shops. Any suggestions?

Newton, NJ is north of Interstate Route 80, on NJ state 206.

When are you visiting? I have a friend in Newton and can ask her for quilt store recommendations.

I live in Hackettstown NJ, about 35 to 45 minutes from Newton. This one LQS in Vernon NJ called the Pieceful Choices, there phone number is 973-823-8297.

If you want to travel a little further there are 2 LQS on in Clinton & the other In Lebanon NJ. They are 10 minutes apart. The one in Clinton is called Kindred Quilits and there phone number is 908-730-8896 this is the shop that I visit the most. The other shop is Budding Star Quilts, there phone number is 908-236-7676.

There are more shops in NJ but much further out. Enjoy your trip to New Jersey.

I lived in Newton NJ when I was a toddler. Small world.

There is a very nice quilt author who lives there. Her name is Cheryl Almgren Taylor, and her quilts are awesome. This is her website>> http://www.atimetosewquilts.com/index.htm

Maybe you could email her and ask where she shops. Look at her quilts. She has a ton of awesome fabrics!!

The shops in Clinton and Lebanon are very nice.

There is a group in Sussex County, called Fairgrounds Quilters. I tried to send you the link but my email was rejected. They have a Yahoo Group you can join and ask questions of the "locals".
